The Outsiders - The New Musical
S.E. Hinton’s iconic novel ‘The Outsiders’ has been one of those have-to reads since it first hit the shelves in 1967|has been one of those books everybody need to read at least once in their lives since it was first released}, and even though some eyebrows were raised at the groundbreaking content flexing both muscle and tenderness at the same time, we all recognized a bit of ourselves within the tale of Tonyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, Sodapop Curtis, Cherry Valance and the others.
The question is, however, will the musical be able to fill the shoes of the iconic novel?
And the answer - absolutely! Since ’The Outsiders’ much anticipated premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse and making its Broadway debut in 2024, ‘The Outsiders’ had a firm grip on the hearts of every single audience member, winning them over once more.
